Editor’s Notes: Virgil Abloh's show notes for his Spring/Summer 2020 Louis Vuitton collection referred to flowers as a "naturally occurring metaphor for diversity." This sentiment was echoed by the show's casting and highlighted by a map pinpointing the birthplace of each model and their parents to showcase the breadth of nationalities walking the runway.

For SS20, Louis Vuitton's accessories include handbags, sunglasses, and jewelry in an eclectic palette of black, turquoise, brown, purple, baby blue, and mint green. Stretching the concept of "florals" to a quite literal level, one bag in slides #3 and #4 is totally encased in realistic-looking artificial flora.

Abloh's collection notes closed with a final thought about the importance of appreciating the beauty found in flowers: "In a digital age oversaturated with views and visual data, stopping to smell the roses de-programs the mind and makes new space for freedom of thought." With some of these accessories, you won't even need to stop and smell the flowers — you'll be carrying them.
