Key Features: The quintessential dad shoe is dressed in three distinct colorways (white, black, pink) and features a completely redesigned upper. Distortions along both the lateral and medial sides as well as the toe box give the sneaker an exaggerated bulky shape. Martine Rose and Nike branding is seen throughout.

Release Date: January 12

Price: $250 / €250 / £170

Buy: Nike

Editor’s Notes: Martine Rose and Nike have come together for what the Swoosh describes as “probably the best collaboration in the world.” The duo take the Air Monarch, the poster boy of American dad shoes, and make it even chunkier.

According to Nike, Rose started out designing her version of the Air Monarch by fitting a size 18 upper onto size 9 tooling, resulting in an unusual shape.

The sneaker, which drops in pink, black, and the Monarch’s signature white/blue colorway today, January 12, retails for $250. An apparel capsule comprising tracksuits and a football jersey has been released alongside the sneakers.
