The first official teaser trailer for Mortal Engines has released, as it's an upcoming fantasy epic based on the book of the same name by Philip Reeve. With the feature boasting a screenplay by the Oscar-winning Lord of the Rings writing team of Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh, and Philippa Boyens, leading in directing is Christian Rivers.

The film takes place in a dystopian future Earth after nuclear war has destroyed most of society, as cities now roam the globe on huge wheels, battling each other, and two unlikely heroes form a bond in an attempt to change the course of the future.

Starring Hera Hilmar, Robert Sheehan, Jihae, Leila George, Ronan Raftery, Colin Salmon, Patrick Malahide and more, Mortal Engines hits theaters on Friday, December 14, 2018.
