Black Swan and Requiem for a Dream director Darren Aronofsky is back with another chilling movie, Mother!

The film centers around Jennifer Lawrence and Javier Bardem, a couple living in an isolated house who receive two unexpected guests, Ed Harris and an incredibly hostile Michelle Pfeiffer.

Everything is tranquil at first, but as the trailer progresses things get alarming. We see flashes of blood, hoards of people descending upon the house, and an increasingly terrified Jennifer Lawrence.

While the film is being promoted as a psychological horror-thriller, this trailer definitely leans towards the horror side of that description. If you're scary movie-adverse, you've been warned.

Mother! will also feature Domhnall Gleeson and Kristen Wiig. Catch it in theaters from September 15.

Now read why Netflix’s To the Bone does more harm than good.
