NEEDLES mastered the tracksuit long ago, its loosened-up take on the two-piece set arguably made most famous by adidas cemented as a certified streetwear classic by too many cosigns to count. Though its tracksuit is its most famous garment, NEEDLES is a true tinkerer, uncontained by genre or trend: its collections range from '70s bell-bottoms to high-vis mohair to the world's greatest wide pants.

And, yes, that does include workwear. But never has NEEDLES so obviously come for Carhartt's crown. It wasn't content to merely take on adidas!

As a jack of any and all trades, NEEDLES is deeply well versed in the usual workwear tropes. The NEPENTHES-owned label has dabbled with double-knee pants, cut up the chore coat, messed with Dickies, and even fooled around with Carhartt's preferred duck canvas, most recently dipping the dense cotton in kakishibu dye.

But this capsule created exclusively for NEPENTHES flagship stores really drives home the Carhartt of it all.

Okay, boiler suit, hooded jacket, loose pants, and a cap. No one can put a claim to any of that.

But NEEDLES goes for the gusto.

The most obvious reference is the hooded jacket, clearly a riff on Carhartt's world-famous Active Jacket but with the style's usual quilted lining rendered nearly neon. But that little patch branded with NEEDLES' butterfly or papillon logo is an unsubtle homage to that little Carhartt "C."

No shame in NEEDLES' game. Everything is shifted just enough to be its own thing — jacket aside, perhaps — and to be fair, it's been producing these styles long enough that they've long been absorbed into its world.

But that they'd all be offered side by side with that little logo to boot? That's one way to celebrate the Carhartt jacket's 50th anniversary.
