The latest New Balance 1906R sneaker looks like it's from another planet.

New Balance's techy dad shoe debuts in this new "Alkaline Green" colorway, giving the sneaker an extremely bold, UFO-worthy look.

While the shoe looks like it's been literally slimed out by aliens (in a good way), it also sort of calls back to Action Bronson's vibrant New Balance collaborations. The designer previously took the 1906R for a lively spin (more like three spins, really).

But beyond the extraterrestrial color scheme, the classic Y2K-style sneaker lives. Expect classic, breezy mesh underlays topped with glossy leather overlays, plus those cushioned, high-tech soles (also used on the 1906 loafer).

Even after its big moment in 2024, the New Balance 1906R continues to thrive. The Boston sneaker brand keeps the model fresh through cool makeovers, like trail-coded GORE-TEX takes and even stylishly scaly designs.

If New Balance keeps it up, we could have another year of the 1906.

In the meantime, New Balance's 1906R "Alkaline Green" is now available on CNCPTS's website for $155.
