Editor’s Notes: Jordan Brand is finishing off the summer with a neck-snapping pack of Air Jordan XI Low IEs.

The Jordan XI was famously worn by Michael Jordan during the 1996 NBA Playoffs, the same season the Chicago Bulls finished 72-10. It was also the first of His Airness’ signature models to get a low silhouette since the Air Jordan II in 1987.

The IE version, which apparently stands for “International Exclusive,” differs from the regular Air Jordan XI Low because it utilizes leather and mesh instead of the heavier patent leather of the original.

When describing the design process for the IE, sneaker-making legend Tinker Hatfield said, “I wasn’t interested in an exact replica of a XI in a low top. I was more interested in doing a low top that was partly the Jordan XI, but fresher.”

Now, just in time for the dog days of summer, Jordan Brand is bringing the Air Jordan XI Low IE back in a trio of fresh, sunny colorways.
