Yoon Ahn and her brand AMBUSH have teamed up with Nike for a new collection encompassing apparel and footwear. The collaboration was born out of Yoon’s desire to be comfortable in what she’s wearing while always on the move.
“When you live a busy lifestyle, the last thing you want is to think about how your clothes are uncomfortable or not functional,” she says. “The new lifestyle that a lot of us live is not so fragmented. Before, how you dressed in the morning wasn’t carried into nighttime. Now we move through space and time more fluidly.”
Yoon’s AMBUSH x Nike capsule includes two coats, a reversible track jacket with fleece on one side and a metallic foil ripstop on the other, a faux fur jacket, a DRI-Fit Stretch bodysuit, a crop top, and fleece pant. In addition, Yoon presents a retooled version of the Air Max 180.
“The Air Max 180 is the first pair of sneakers I ever bought with my own money. I wanted it so badly, having seen it in the pages of a magazine,” says the designer.
The collaborative sneaker welcomes design elements from another classic, Nike’s Air Zoom Flight.
“When I visited the Nike archive, I saw the Glove. It looks so cozy, so comfortable from afar. I wanted to capture that feeling and fully wrap the foot,” she adds.
You can look forward to the AMBUSH x Nike apparel becoming available December 6, followed by the Air Max 180 in the spring of 2019.
