According to the sportswear brand, the KD 13 "Hype" draws inspiration from Durant's diverse music library, specifically the playlist he listens to before games. Apparently KD likes to jam out to everything from soul classics and rhythmic sounds to southern trap bangers while getting hype ahead of games.
The gaudy, over-the-top design, as well as the colors look to be a clear nod to Versace’s signature style.
