Model: React Element 87
Key Features: The midsole features Nike’s revolutionary new React foam technology, while the upper makes use of a translucent shell, exterior taping on the heel, an exposed lace collar, and trail-running style laces.
Release Date: The global release went down on June 26. North America saw a July 13 release date. European retailer Solebox restocked the sneaker on July 3. Now Bodega is offering a limited re-stock via Instagram.
Editor’s Notes: We first got a look at Nike’s futuristic-looking new trail-runner at UNDERCOVER’s Paris Fashion Week show back in March.
U.S. sneakerheads were able to purchase the sneakers on July 13 at various retailers (listed below), however, the sneakers quickly sold out. New leaks suggest there could be two new colorways coming in 2019. Check them out here.
Until then, though, Boston-based Bodega is giving sneakerheads a last chance to buy the sneaker at retail. In its Instagram post (below), Bodega has invited people to tag a friend, hashtag their location, and comment their size for a chance to purchase the Nike React Element 87.
Designed by the Nike special projects team, led by senior design director Nate Jobe, the Nike React Element 87 has a futuristic, technical vibe. Speaking about the project, Jobe said, “The Nike Element React 87 was realized by drilling foam and applying a computational design filter. The results presented a new articulation of Nike’s React technology while an out-the-box interpretation of a friendly runner from the past yielded an avant-garde new upper.”
A selection of retailers that stocked the Nike React Element 87 are listed below.
