The only predictable thing about NOAH's Vans collabs is how unpredictable they are: tartan plaid! Monk straps! Tonal suede! Hence why no one could've expected the Spring/Summer 2022 team-up to be this *aesthetic.*

It's simple surfer style for NOAH's SS22 Vans collection, which encompasses a timeless trio of lush suede Slip-On sneakers in green, brown and blue, with only the latter fitted with a contrasting red heel.

This is as versatile as NOAH x Vans drops get, though previous releases did occasionally channel single-hue suede on occasion.

Dropping May 26 on NOAH's website, these latest Vans are some of its best in a while, though. At least in my humble opinion.

Few things look better on a Slip-On than suede in washed-out hues.

Engineered Garments' recent Vans collab is another strong case for the skate sneaker in tonal trim.

This beautiful simplicity is a pretty good reason for why Vans have recently become the go-to celeb shoe, beloved by Rihanna, Kim Kardashian, and Pete Davidson alike — it's not like any of those folks need affordable shoes.

Not like there's been a shortage of brash Vans either, thanks to recent collaborations with BAPE and Sarah Andelman.

But one could make a strong case for these fairly plain models conceived by NOAH as being the purest iterations of Vans, the best look for the classic slips.

Admittedly, they're nothing you couldn't find on Vans' website as-is, but the NOAH co-sign and those gently contrasting heels are all-important. And what better way to match your Popeye jacket or Jimi Hendrix T-shirt?
