Double Tap to Zoom

At first glance, Zurich-based performancewear label On's Cloud X model probably isn't typical of the silhouettes we generally cover at Highsnobiety. But behind its mesh upper, you'll find an unprecedented design spec with functional details to match.

Founded in 2010, On is the brainchild of three friends in the Swiss Alps who set out to change the running performance sneaker game. Since its conception, the label has been awarded a number of international design and tech accolades and shows no sign of hitting the wall any time soon.

Known to be the world's lightest, cushioned shoe, it's not difficult to see where the brand's signature Cloud X sneaker gets its name. As well as a dual-density sockliner and seamless tongue, the Cloud X is built from zero-gravity foam with a patented CloudTec® sole that's primed for movement in every direction.

The result is a shoe that enables both explosive take-offs and softer landings, without compromising cushioning and protection. It's what On describes as 'forward motion powered by forward thinking', enstating the very best in athletic engineering for a running experience that's not like any other.

But while its lightweight feel is engineered for running, the model is tried and tested in a number of other active pursuits, rivaling performance sneakers from some of the world's biggest labels.

Available in a number of colorways, the black/asphalt and black/white models take the cake in our opinion, and will be the envy of everyone on the track, in the gym and beyond. You can cop using the links below.
