Raf Simons has announced that he is launching a women's line under his eponymous label. The Belgian designer took to Instagram to announce the news, revealing that his brand's first-ever women's collection will be presented on October 23.

This won't be Simons' first foray into womenswear, however. He has designed multiple women's collections over the years, albeit never one for his own label — until now.

In the past, he has created womenswear for Jil Sander, followed by Dior where he was in charge of the house's women’s ready-to-wear and couture lines. Then at Calvin Klein, Simons was responsible for both the women's and men's collections.

The fashion industry has long since seen the best menswear designers transition to womenswear. Simons is one of many, including Hedi Slimane, Jonathan Anderson, Virgil Abloh, and Thom Browne, just to name a few, who have made the pivot over the years.

The debut Raf Simons women's collection will be revealed alongside the label's Spring/Summer 2021 men's collection on October 23, although the specific format/venue has yet to be announced.
