After years of fan expectation, Rockstar Games today released a trailer confirming the existence of a sequel to their much-loved open-world Western epic game, Red Dead Redemption.

Although there's little gameplay footage featured in the clip, fans of the series will just be relieved to know that the project is in fact underway. While the gaming rumor mill appears to be in a perpetual state of overdrive regarding the Grand Theft Auto series — Rockstar's flagship game — much less talk has centered around a potential Red Dead Redemption 2. The first game was critically acclaimed for its cinematic imagery and immersive mise en scène, and judging by the picturesque trailer above, it's an aspect RDR2 will only build further upon.

A release date of Fall 2017 has been earmarked for the game which will be available on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. A PC release has yet to be confirmed.
