Specifically, the wildly hairy shoes above are Rick Owens DRKSHDW Abstract sneakers. While the model typically comes in leather or canvas material, the platform un-Chuck Taylors brought out its fur just in time for the cold weather and spooky season.
Available in black, cream, and brown, Rick Owens' furry Abstract sneakers see the model shrouded with disorderly faux fur. As a result, the shoe looks like the feet of a wooly animal (if the creature knew a thing or two about Rick Owens drip).
A zipper on the side hides underneath the fur, along with a shoelace system (SSENSE confirms: it's there). Though, my eyes can't see past the hairy abyss on the shoe's upper.
Fur kicks from Rick Owens? I can't say I'm surprised — because I'm not, especially coming from the brand that sent a host of hairy wonders down the runway in February (those caged platform boots live rent-free in my head, by the way).
Every season, Rick Owens grabs our attention with pieces only the fashion label can make a thing, like cleavage-exposing tank tops and leg corsets. And now, the latest Abstract sneakers enter the chat with the fluff treatment.
Rick Owens' faux fur DRKSHDW Abstract shoes aren't to be feared, but they aren't for the hair-opposed either. I mean, these shoes undoubtedly earn a seat at the hairy table next to AMBUSH's Converse and Cactus Plant Flea Market's Dunks.
