The second trailer for the hotly-anticipated Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has landed — and if the first one had you excited, this one is going to have you jumping out of your seat.

Rogue One is being directed by Gareth Edwards (the man behind the 2014 blockbuster Godzilla) and is a standalone movie set between the events of prequel movie Revenge of the Sith and 1977’s Star Wars: A New Hope. As we can see more clearly now from the new trailer, it's set to follow a band of Rebel Alliance soldiers attempting to steal the plans to build the Death Star, a world-destroying super weapon being developed by the evil empire.

The new clip shows us a few glimpses of Jyn Erso's past, as well as the the origins of the Rogue call sign and some very intense battle scenes. As The Verge points out, there are also a few other intriguing clues: it opens with Imperial forces storming a farm while Galen Erso comforts his young daughter, telling her that he's doing "it to protect her," before an adult Jyn wakes up in a prison cell.

We don't yet know exactly what's in store for us just yet, but right now it looks incredibly promising. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is set for release on December 16. Watch the new trailer above.

In other movie news, Daniel Craig may return as James Bond after being offered $150 million.
