Spike Lee took to Instagram to reveal he’ll be wearing a Michael Jordan-commissioned golden Air Jordan 3 by legendary Nike designer Tinker Hatfield.

The red-carpet-ready kicks are rendered in an Oscar statue patina, foreshadowing a potential win for the veteran director. The  Air Jordan 3 “Tinker” features custom heel logo that reads “40 Acres and a Mule Filmworks,” Lee’s film company, as well as the title, “Da Republic of Brooklyn,” a Spike Lee joint project he produced with Uber. It’s broken up with “Sho-Nuff ” and “Ya-Dig,” phrases that appear at the end of Spike Lee films.

Hatfield also made Lee a pair of custom BlacKkKlansman Air Jordans to wear to the 2019 Golden Globe Awards.

Last week at the NBA All-Star Weekend in Charlotte, Lee revealed a second edition of “Da BLACKkKLANSMAN Jordan Oscars.”

Lee will wear the Air Jordan 3 “Tinker” tonight, Sunday, February 24th, at the 91st Academy Awards where his film BlacKkKlansman is nominated for Best Picture.
