Stone Island is nothing without the people who wear Stone Island and so, the Italian spot-luxe label perpetually angles its seasonal collections to highlight the SI community. For Spring/Summer 2025, though, Stone Island is truly kicking it old school.

Spike Lee and Giggs join John Glacier and Hidetoshi Nakata in the classic Stone Island Research Project format, highlighting even more of the cultural heavyweights in the SI family.

Stone Island is as important to Giggs as he is to Stone Island. The 41-year-old British rapper has dedicated songs and looks to SI for basically as long as he's been at it, edifying a new generation of young fans on the finer points of Stoney culture.

And Spike Lee, well, it's Spike Lee. The Brooklyn filmmaker is so ingrained in street culture that he's one of the few non-athletes to have directly inspired his own Jordan shoe. Lee's oeuvre is youth culture.

Glacier, a 29-year-old musician from Hackney, and Nakata, a 48-year-old retired football star, represent the further reaches of Stone Island's appeal.

Beyond the bespoke textiles, engineered to seasonal Stoney specification, there's an aura of cultural clout forever associated with the Italian imprint, stretching beyond qualitative appeal.

Stone Island is more than clothes: It's a way of thinking, epitomized in the Stone Island Research Project questionnaire assembled by art critic and Serpentine Gallery artistic director Hans Ulrich Obrist. Stone Island is intellectual, too, though it's also pretty darn cool-looking.
