Brand: Union LA x Cactus Plant Flea Market

Release Date: November 11, November 17 in Japan

Buy: Union LA's website and store.

Editor's Notes: Even as Union's 30th-anniversary year wraps up, it keeps the heat coming, Jordan 2s included. It's got a new Cactus Plant Flea Market collaboration coming out ahead of the year's end and it's as fun as anything that CPFM's cooked up recently.

CPFM is celebrating Union with a four-piece drop that includes a hoodie, pullover sweater, sweatpants, and T-shirt — autumn classics, basically. They're all crafted from heavyweight, eco-conscious cotton jersey and washed for a super-soft hand-feel and nice fading throughout.

But you're not here to admire the textiles, you wanna see the special prints that designate these as collectible collaborative wearables.

CPFM delivers the goods, though in a tamer fashion than usual. Here, you've got seasonal staples rendered with Union's Frontman logo, pastel-toned graphics, and lots of puff print branding. It's not new territory but fans of each brand will find a lot to like.

It's similar territory to Union's recent Needles collab, which took some of the safer, more accessible Needles bits and gave them a gentle Union spin.

Cactus Plant Flea Market's Fall/Winter 2021 Japan Made drop, meanwhile, speaks to more of that CPFM energy. While this 30th-anniversary tie-up plays it relatively safe (nothing wrong with that, mind you), fans know that CPFM really enjoys indulging in flashy, hippy-dippy stuff.

Like the FoG ESSENTIALS drop, though, CPFM's Union exclusives lean hard into convention.

But a steady stream of appreciably approachable essentials has fared well for Union over the past three decades, providing a safety net for the company's wilder experiments. Keeping things grounded for a commemorative drop only makes sense.
