Vibram’s toe shoes were one of 2024’s most polarising fashion trends, and they’re starting the new year with a bang.

In celebration of the Lunar New Year, commencing January 29, Vibram FiveFingers is launching a special edition KSO Evo — a reptilian update of an already eye-catching shoe.

Covering the upper of the KSO Evo (including every one of its little toe holders) is a shiny red snakeskin print contrasted with silver snakeskin overlays and silver laces.

The red snakeskin makes quite the statement, but hasn’t been chosen merely for its looks: This is a celebration of The Year of the Snake.

Meanwhile, the striking red colorway is “rooted in Chinese heritage, symbolizes prosperity and good fortune, making it a meaningful addition to the festive season,” according to Vibram.

Ahead of the Lunar New Year, Vibram FiveFinger’s scaly toe shoes are available exclusively in limited quantities from its Doe Flagship Store in Shanghai.

There’s still some time to go before the Lunar New Year celebrations officially begin but fashion brands have already been celebrating for some time. From every corner of the industry, snake-themed collections are seemingly arriving in time for the big moment.

Now, Vibram’s unconventional toe shoe is joining the fun.
