After conquering the music world with his beloved sad boy rap, Yung Lean is now setting his sights on screenwriting. In a new interview with Complex, the musician revealed that he’s begun work on a film script, with another movie idea already in the pipeline.
The first movie he’s developing is "a strange gangster drama" which Lean says he’s written two drafts of. The second is inspired by a song from the rock mockumentary This Is Spinal Tap. "They have this rock opera about Jack the Ripper called ‘[Saucy] Jack’. There’s a serial killer in Sweden called the Laser Man so I would like to do a rock opera about the Laser Man."
“The Laser Man" - civilian name John Ausonius - shot 11 people between August 1991 to January 1992 in Stockholm, blaming immigrants for Sweden's poor economy, targeting them in his shootings.
Lean also added that he’d like to get into acting and release at least 10 projects under his hip-hop moniker. "After ten albums I can reevaluate my life. Maybe then I’ll settle down," he told Complex. No surprise that Yung Leandoer is getting seriously into film after he shared a two-part film accompaniment to his 2017 album Stranger, which you can revisit below.
