The premise behind Oculus Rift is interesting and innovative – realistically, who hasn’t dreamt of putting themselves in virtual reality? Even after the launch, the hype behind the new piece of tech is still going strong.

South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have taken to parodying the Oculus Rift to a new level as a part of their campaign for the game South Park: The Fractured But Whole. Dubbed the Nosulus Rift, the immersive experience involves using your nose to give gamers a true feel for the game.

In South Park: The Fractured But Whole, players take on the role as the New Kid, with the special “power of the ass.” According to Matt Stone, the duo wanted to “Come up with the most authentic, the most immersive way for players to be able to experience the power of the new kid.” For them, this meant allowing players to smell the power of the ass – as in farts. A special fragrance was designed just for use with the Nosulus Rift – and it’s a smelly concoction at that.

The Nosulus Rift will make its debut at Gamescon in Cologne, Germany later this month. Unfortunately the device is not for sale, it has been developed as an exclusive experience for players during events, like Gamescom.
