The year is early yet, but Migos's "Bad and Boujee" seems destined to be one of 2017's most unlikely success stories. Initially dropped back in the fall, it skyrocketed to the top of the charts thanks to a big up from Donald Glover in his Golden Globes acceptance speech, and now it is inescapable. Need proof? It seems that Gucci Mane's new album is one big reference to the song.
Gucci revealed via Twitter that his new album will be titled DropTopWizop, a clear reference to some of the lyrics to "Bad and Boujee." Namely, "Raindrop, drop top, smokin' on cookie in the hotbox." This is all the more curious given that Gucci Mane is not a featured artist on the song, but clearly he has a lot of love for his fellow Atlanta brethren.
This will be Gucci's first musical release of 2017, but it is keeping in line with the rapper's eerily speedy workflow. Just last month he released The Return of East Atlanta Santa, his third full-length in six months. And this barely scratches the surface of his musical output from last year, one that includes multiple EPs, several collaborative mixtapes and numerous featured guest spots.
