Uniqlo has rallied an impressive coterie of high fashion collaborators over the years, from Christophe Lemaire to Carine Roitfeld, to its enduring union with Jil Sander. The latest industry impresario to lend their aesthetic to Uniqlo is none other than British wunderkind Jonathan Anderson, the aesthete at the helm of J.W.Anderson and Loewe. The project was announced this morning in New York, at Uniqlo’s global press preview.
Anderson, who is originally from Northern Ireland, is set to present a line inspired by the British-heritage motifs that have long shaped his work. Given that Anderson is well-versed in the art of collaboration, having linked up with the likes of A$AP Rocky, Versace Versus, and Topshop, J.W.Anderson x Uniqlo is set to be a banger. The collection will include clothing for both men and women and will launch this coming fall.
