Last night a terrorist attack at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester left at least 22 dead. The tragic news broke during the filming of The Late Late Show, where host James Corden delivered an emotional speech.

He began expressing shock at the news before delivering a heartfelt tribute to the city of Manchester. “When I think of Manchester, the place that I know, I think of the spirit of the people there. And I’m telling you, a more tight-knit group of people you will be hard pressed to find. ”

He continued, “[It has] strong, proud, caring people with community at its core. And if it was even possible, the spirit of Manchester will grow even stronger this evening.”

The visibly shook host then said that his “thoughts and prayers are with everyone in Manchester tonight,” before saying that “we’ll all go to bed holding our little ones even tighter this evening.”
