While we all know that Littlefinger's speciality is manipulating relationships in an effort to power-grab for the throne, one Reddit user has put forward a compelling theory to exactly how he plans to do that.
According to squirrelwoman, Littlefinger will first manipulate Sansa into believing her family is against her, further exaggerating the tensions between Ayra and Sansa we saw in last week's episode 'Eastwatch.'
Then, with Sansa on his side, he will wait out the war. "While Littlefinger and his army are parked safely at Winterfell, his rivals are dropping like flies: the Martells and Tyrells are gone, half the Greyjoy fleet just sunk the other half, and Team Cersei and Team Daenerys are hacking away huge chunks of each other’s military might every time they clash."
Littlefinger will then ride into King's Landing with the 'Queen in the North' and be hailed "the liberator of the Seven Kingdoms."
In this theory, Sansa is merely a means to an end, and not a romantic interest as some viewers had hoped. But considering Littlefinger's character, that's hardly surprising.
There's just one problem with this plan – Jon Snow.
Jon has been in Littlefinger's way from the beginning, but the chance that he's come to an alliance with Daenerys, or he leads his army into war against the White Walkers, could be disastrous for Littlefinger's plan.
