Alan Taylor, a regular Game of Thrones director, has hinted that the finale of season seven will see the conflict between Arya and Sansa come to a "violent but surprising" end.

“I love the fact that these two come back, they’re both lethal, and I just wanted to give the impression [in "Beyond The Wall"], as much as possible, that one of them is going to die,” Taylor told The Huffington Post. “But you’re not sure which one.”

He then continued: “Arya is certainly lethal and sort of threatening, but when Sansa sends Brienne away, who is Arya’s natural protector, something is coming very soon between them – and it will be violent but surprising.”

Though Taylor won't be directing the finale, he's been with Game of Thrones since the start and directed last week's penultimate "Beyond the Wall" episode, so he's definitely a reliable source.

Now, watch Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner’s hilarious Game of Thrones impressions.
