Warning: Spoilers below.
On Sunday's finale, fans reveled in the brutal murder of Petyr “Littlefinger” Baelish. Littlefinger had been pitting Sansa and Arya against each other, a plan which unsurprisingly ended with Arya slitting Baelish's throat in an emotional — but for many, cathartic — scene.
In a rare interview, Aiden Gillen, the actor who played Littlefinger, explained what it felt to get killed off. Speaking to EW, the Irish actor revealed that he felt "bereft" for both himself and his character, though he was glad he had "good story to finish with."
Revealingly, Gillen had guessed how his character would die all the way back in 2015. When an interviewer asked the actor how his character would leave the show, he said that he "thought Arya would deliver the blow. So it was as promised."
