The second trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi has finally arrived, giving us an emotional look at the upcoming movie. Featuring Mark Hamill’s return to the franchise and the late Carrie Fischer’s last appearance on the big screen, the footage was aired during Monday Night Football’s halftime show.
In the trailer above, courtesy of Disney, we are introduced to Kylo Ren’s continuing descent to the dark side, while Rey, on the other hand, begins to train under Luke Skywalker. Other favorites such as Chewbacca, Princess Leia and Finn all make appearances too, however, the trailer makes it clear that The Last Jedi will focus on light versus dark, represented respectively by Rey and Ren.
As soon as the title of the film was announced, speculation started as to who the last Jedi is, and now we have an answer. The film’s director Rian Johnson confirmed on Twitter that the last Jedi is indeed Luke Skywalker and not Rey, as many had guessed.
In addition to the trailer, Disney surprisingly also released a new movie poster, possibly to capitalize on the hype they knew the trailer would create. Check it out below.
Premiering on December 15, tickets for The Last Jedi are now available.
