Thirty-one years after the original film She’s Gotta Have It made its premiere, the 1986 comedy-drama by acclaimed director Spike Lee — in which a woman named Nola Darling explores relationships with three potential suitors — is now being adapted into a 10-episode series for Netflix.

For a first full glimpse into the upcoming show, Spike Lee himself is seen as the original Mars Blackmon, before introducing the new Nola Darling played by DeWanda Wise and her three lovers, Greer Childs (Cleo Anthony), Jamie Overstreet (Lyriq Bent) and Mars Blackmon portrayed by Anthony Ramos.

With the series captured around the Downtown and Fort Greene areas of Brooklyn, the series also features Nola’s therapist played by Heather Headley and her friends, Clorinda Bradford (Margot Bingham), Shemekka Epps (Chyna Layne) and Rachel played by Elise Hudson.

She’s Gotta Have It debuts on Netflix Thursday, November 23.

In case you missed it, Netflix is raising the price on their most popular plan.
