Editor’s Notes: After Kourtney Kardashian gave us our first on-foot look at the High-Top YEEZY 500 "Slate," adidas shared official imagery and release details for the upcoming YEEZY launch. The high-top version of Kanye West’s fifth original shoe design for adidas was originally leaked back in August and is available worldwide today, December 16.

This marks the first time that one of Kanye’s adidas designs has been re-released in a different height. While YEEZYs such as the 700 and the 350 have seen updated versions with slightly different uppers and sole units, none have had their cut altered like the 500.

Commenters on social media were quick to compare the new YEEZY 500 high top to other athletic sneakers like the Nike Air Jordan 7, Nike Air Max 2 Uptempo, and adidas Crazy 8.
