The world of outerwear is complicated, to say the least. While wearing the perfect coat is a joy that’s hard to match, finding the perfect coat is quite the opposite. There’s a lot to consider: you want something that caters to style as well as substance, of course, but you probably also want something that turns a head or two and sets you apart from the crowd. Often, that means finding a burgeoning label that’s bringing something fresh to the table. Case in point: afterlabel.

Born in Italy, afterlabel creates comfortable outerwear that caters to style with a focus on functional tailoring as well as high-end down fills and waterproof shells. This two-pronged approach means that afterlabel coats and jackets are perfected for both urban settings and the great outdoors.

We could continue to sing the praises of afterlabel and its technical prowess, but there’s no better proof than seeing the pieces in the wild. So, to make your painful search for the perfect winter outerwear as smooth as possible, @gregntore, @trobrillants, @farrellina, and @j_in_young have shown us how they’re styling their favorite coats and jackets from the collection.

While his followers are more used to seeing Ruddy Trobrilliant exploring the streets of his hometown Paris, he ventured further afield with the AL143 W01 280 padded shirt. This feather-padded wool shirt features a pop-button fastening as well as the afterlabel logo patch to the arm. With its fall-ready brown shell, it fits naturally into the wild, but the tailored silhouette would slot effortlessly into a cityscape, too.

@farrellina

In keeping with her contemporary take on understated style, Alisha styled her AL129 P026 870 satin bomber jacket over a clean white crop top and complemented the green satin shell with a pair of muted green JJJound x Vans Chukkas. Backed by the brutalist architecture of a multi-story car park, Alisha offers up a view of afterlabel in the concrete jungle.

Personal stylist at SSENSE, Greg Ntore never shies away from a bold look. Proving the unisex credentials of the AL129 P026 satin bomber that Alisha styled with neutral pieces, Greg opts for an out-there ensemble instead. Combining the bomber with Issey Miyake shorts and a pair of clean white runners, he really leans into the varsity roots of the letterman jacket.

A quick scroll through model and stylist Kim JinYoung’s Instagram profile is testament to her ability to construct pitch-perfect color palettes with unlikely components. Styling one of the boldest pieces from afterlabel Fall/Winter 2021 collection. The floral-printed jacquard AL264 JQ05 940 is underpinned by its rich red finish. Silhouetted against a sunset, Kim JinYoung’s puffer ties her avant-garde fit together.
