Following the reveal of its men’s "Halcyon Blvd" SS18 collection, ALYX now introduces ALYX Visual, a collection of garments made exclusively with upcycled cotton-rich yarn from pre-loved clothing.
Comprised of a variety of jersey pieces with an intent to use creative reuse to reduce waste, ALYX works directly with Recover Tex, using an upcycled textile system that is almost entirely waterless and chemical free. With an emphasis on sustainability, the process regenerates cotton fiber from recycled garments and reclaimed plastic bottles to produce cotton yarn for new fabrication.
ALYX Creative Director Matthew Williams shared, "We started our recycled cotton program with our FW17 collection. We just want to do our part to decrease our carbon footprint and produce less and less waste in the world, as this is of extreme importance. We want to spread awareness now through this idea and our Visual collections, in hopes that others will follow suit.."
Available for both men and women, the first ALYX Visual offering is a staple three T-Shirt pack rendered in colors of black, white, and grey, retailing at $185 USD -- all of which is available at ALYX's online store now.
In addition, more pieces from the ALYX Visual SS18 collection will be available on ALYX starting Monday, February 26, with additional retailers to follow on Thursday, March 1.
