What We’re Saying: Vans' Vault division is on an absolute tear in terms of collaborative releases. After recently partnering with the likes of Madhappy, BEDWIN, FDMTL, and JJJJound, the California outfit presses on with yet another joint foray, this time alongside Sofia Prantera and Aries.

Aries has never been one to stick to the status quo, instead prioritizing individual creative expression. The brand's new collab with Vault by Vans is as much about breaking traditional fashion rules as anything else, pairing multiple prints and patterns to deliver unconventional interpretations of classic Vans silhouettes.

“When working at Slam City Skates we had a vintage 'customize your own Vans' poster which seemed to allow you to mix and match prints for every part of the shoe. We wanted the collaboration to follow this accidental recipe; same colours don’t quite match like they have been made of found pieces of material; graphics and logos are incoherent; random apocalyptic stories appear on the soles; while the phrase 'go your own way' and 'Art Trip' reinforce the message of individuality and rule breaking that is shared by both brands,” said Prantera.

The new Aries x Vault by Vans collection spans footwear and apparel styles, as we find the OG Authentic LX, OG Sk8-Mid LX, OG Era LX, and OG Chukka LX offered in multiple colorways. Headlining the assortment is the Authentic, with the "Weed Muted" iteration that incorporates a multicolor marijuana leaf-inspired pattern on the uppers, art nouveau bordered text sidewall art, yellow color blocking on the vulcanized sole, an Aries-branded typographic foxing stripe, and striped laces. The "Tiger Muted" take on the Authentic pairs tie-dye uppers with an allover black tiger stripe and features yellow color blocking on the sole, an orange typographic Aries-branded foxing stripe, a fuchsia heel stripe and teal “Off The Wall” heel logo, and striped laces.

To complement the Authentics, the Sk8-Mid arrives in brighter versions of the "Weed Muted" and "Tiger Muted" colorways, while the Era and Chukka emerge in tie-dye looks with Aries tiger stripe sidewall art.

Completing the head-to-toe collaboration is an equally bold, co-branded hoodie, as well as a multicolor short-sleeve tie-dyed tee and a knit jacquard beanie with oversized logos.
