Following the square-toed Tyrex, Balenciaga is back with another sleek new trainer, dubbed the Zen. Rivaling a familiar design by Lonsdale, the Zen closely resembles shoes designed for boxing and MMA.

Part of the fashion house's Spring/Summer 2020 collection, the Balenciaga Zen boasts a sock-like shape and features a noticeably thin rubber sole. The upper of the leather-free shoe is made from quilted polyurethane, while the elasticated rubber tongue bears the house's logo.

Transitioning away from the chunky sneaker trend, will Balenciaga's new sleek silhouettes like the Zen catch on? That remains to be seen for now, but one thing is for certain, Twitter is having an absolute field day surrounding the unveiling of the Zen.

See below for some of the best reactions, and if you find yourself liking the shoe, you can pick up a pair through Balenciaga's web store for $550.
