Banksy's 2005 painting, Show Me the Monet, is set to be auctioned off via Sotheby’s on October 21. A recreation of Claude Monet‘s The Water Lily Pond from 1899, the work by the British street artist is expected to fetch upwards of $6.4 million.

Show Me the Monet was unveiled at Banksy's “Crude Oils: A Gallery of Re-mixed Masterpieces, Vandalism and Vermin” exhibition in London in 2005. The show featured 21 other works which found the elusive artist reinterpreting paintings by older artists.

Banksy added shopping carts and a bright orange traffic cone to Monet‘s The Water Lily Pond for his Show Me the Monet, seemingly referencing human tendency to cause environmental damage. As alluded to above, he has recreated numerous other paintings in a similar light over the years, including works by Vincent van Gogh and Andy Warhol, among others.

Show Me the Monet is currently on display in London and will be making appearances in New York and Hong Kong before being auctioned by Sotheby’s in London on October 21. The painting is estimated to sell for anywhere between $3.8 million to $6.4 million.
