Of course Liam Gallagher's son, Lennon, knows about Burberry. He is a Brit, ain't he?

"Burberry had gone through a few creative changes [when I was first acquainted with it]," he tells Highsnobiety. "The thing that I admire about Burberry above being a British brand, something that I always prioritize, is that the chapters may change but the book always stays the same. Through each collection, you can really see the British pride."

Indeed, this is the guiding light of Burberry's creative director Daniel Lee, who has consistently infused British heritage label with ample Britishness.

That's why Lee infuses visible codes like footballish sports cues and loads of Burberry check into his collections, modeled by stylish Brits like Kai-Isaiah Jamal, Giselle Norman and Lennon Gallagher.

Lee's Burberry a testament to contemporary Britishness and Burberry Classics is an even more overt salute to the sort of unfussy staples that is the maison at its best. We're talking Check'd bags, sneakers, shirts, the works. But we're also bringing in loads of understated stuff, slick wool sweaters and single-tone slacks that remind you why Lee remains the king of quiet luxury.

But it's not all about the understated stuff for Gallagher.

"Burberry has always been the standalone [representation] of British culture" in luxury fashion, he says, explaining that his attraction to the house goes beyond the staples, though he clearly has much love for the Classics.

Gallagher also loves how Lee "plays with color and texture," for instance, and considers "the socks" to be Burberry's second-most iconic item, behind the signature trench.

The 24-year-old may have a fresh perspective on the century-old house but the sense of attachment is age-old.

Says Gallagher, "To represent Burberry as a model, let alone a British one, is a huge honor."
