Have you ever wanted to be apart of a Star Wars movie? Well Columbia Sportswear is helping fans live their best crew life in their limited edition jacket. Collaborating with our favorite franchise in a galaxy far, far away, the outwear company has recreated the parka originally worn by the cast and crew nearly 40 years ago on the set of The Empire Strikes Back.
While shooting the famous "Battle of Hoth" in 1979, the crew traveled to the frigid wilderness of Norway to shoot the iconic scene. To make sure that the harsh weather conditions didn't turn the group into a pack of angry wampa's, they were all equipped with unique winter gear designed specifically to protect them from sub-zero temperatures.
Now, Columbia and Star Wars are giving fans a behind the scenes look at the limited edition Star Wars: "Empire Crew" parka and a chance to own one. It's a technical high-performance unisex jacket that features a waterproof, breathable and critically seam-sealed outer layer to protect against the elements, while the Omni-Heat™ thermal-reflective lining and insulation keeps you warm. The parka also includes a removable, adjustable hood with removable faux-fur trim, two-way collar, ribbed comfort cuffs, wrist zips and multifunctional pockets.
The Star Wars: Empire Crew parka will set you back $500 USD and will be available to purchase on Columbia's site starting at 12:01 a.m. EST on Dec. 7 and in-store at select Columbia-branded retail locations in the U.S., Canada, Europe, China, Hong Kong, Japan and Korea. Will you be copping?
