In case you weren't aware, Elton John is a huge fan of A Tribe Called Quest. In the latest episode of his Rocket Hour show on Apple Music's Beats 1, Q-Tip joins as a special guest. The duo sat down together in New York to some of their favorite music and talk A Tribe Called Quest, which Elton dubs “the seminal hip hop band of all time.”

"Rocket Man" himself even goes so far as to call people who don't know the group "stupid," and says "if you listen to [Electric Relaxation] you’ll understand why I rave about them."

The two also discuss collaborating again in the future, Q-Tip talks meeting Little Richard for the first time in 1988, as well as upcoming projects with Mary J Blige, and teases three of his own solo records. Meanwhile, Elton John talks performing with John Lennon the night he got back together with Yoko Ono.

The latest episode of Elton John's Rocket Hour airs Thursday, March 21st at 10am LA/1pm NY/5pm LDN on Apple Music’s Beats 1. Listen live for free here or on-demand here.
