Etnia Barcelona continues to build collections based on iconic figures in the worlds of art and photography, with its latest J.M. Basquiat x Etnia Barcelona collection an homage to the work of the legendary New York artist.
The new capsule features four models of frames, each incorporating motifs based on three original works, Glenn, Untitled (Fallen Angel) and In This Case by Basquiat, in a choice of blue, yellow or red lenses. Each frame boasts three vertices resembling the three points of the artist’s signature crown on the top left rim.
Etnia Barcelona’s Jean-Michel Basquiat sunglasses collection was officially unveiled May 12 in New York City. The event also witnessed an exclusive film from the accessories brand that highlighted the artist’s legacy and the important, transgressive and emotional nature of his work, as shown through two key members of the current New York scene who were directly influenced by Basquiat: rapper and music producer Oddisee and the graphic artist Elle.
