A trend that seems to reblossom season after season, floral patterns have long been associated with fashion brands at this time of year. In her role as cutthroat magazine editor Miranda Priestly, Meryl Streep famously shut down such garments in four brutal words – indicating that they were tired and overdone. But the 2019 men’s offering begs to differ.
While generic flowery patterns have long overpopulated affordable fashion brands, no doubt contributing to the outmoded rep, a bit of online weeding from the Highsnobiety Shopping squad has uncovered a selection of spring apparel and footwear that rethink floral prints.
From the recent Supreme x Jean Paul Gaultier collaboration to the chic menswear direction being championed by newer brands such as Jacquemus and BODE, there are plenty of ways to incorporate florals into your wardrobe without inviting Priestly-esque eye rolls.
In our selection, you’ll see fragmented flowers on a pair of Neil Barret swim shorts and matching Hawaiian shirt, crazy palm tree-embellished trousers by 3.1 Phillip Lim, an insane green velvet vest by Gucci, and a $1,500+ high-top sneaker by Maison Margiela
