To mark Spring Breakers and The Beach Bum director Harmony Korine shooting its Pre-Fall 2019 collection in the ancient Roman towns of Herculaneum and Pompeii (today Ercolano and Pompei), Gucci is publishing a limited-edition photo book called Gucci by Harmony Korine.

The collection’s lookbook staged tourists around the famous ruins in Gucci’s pattern-heavy apparel and accessories, and the new book embellishes the work Korine did on the shoot. Korine’s frenetic illustrations can be seen throughout, including on the front and back covers, as well as the spines of the books. In total, five different spines come together when placed side by side create a full Korine illustration.

“Working with Alessandro Michele was such a great experience,” says Korine. “It was a chance to shoot in historic places such as the ancient towns of Ercolano and Pompei, which are so inspiring. The special atmosphere made it a unique experience.”

Gucci by Harmony Korine is slated for release at the beginning of June through IDEA Books. You can email here to get on the early notification list. The book will also be sold at the Gucci Garden in Florence and the Gucci Wooster bookstore in New York.
