Last week we gave a preview of Gucci’s latest sneaker: the Ultrapace. Part of the house’s Fall/Winter 2019 collection, it’s inspired by classic running shoes but takes things up ten notches by infusing Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele’s penchant for maximalism.
Releasing in a variety of colorways, the uppers are made from a luxurious Tejus printed leather, mixing metallic leather, suede, and contrasting elements that really make it stand apart from the pack. The tricolor rubber sole and hand-colored midsole give it a striking pop, and the Gucci logos on the sole add a low-key flex. For added comfort, the terry cloth lining adds an extra element of coziness.
The shoe releases tomorrow, August 7, at Gucci Wooster, Las Vegas Crystals, Beverly Hills, Chicago, Houston, Atlanta, and Bal Harbour. It will become more widely available throughout Gucci’s store network in early September.
Gucci is feting the release of the Ultrapace at its Wooster Street store in NYC with an event featuring cocktails and four short films by Mary Evangelista, Pepi Ginsberg, Madeline Leshner, and Sebastian Sdaigui.
The Gucci Ultrapace sneaker costs $790 and will also be available on gucci.com.
