Paramount Network previously dubbed Spike TV, releases the official red band trailer for its upcoming pitch-black comedy anthology series Heathers, based on the iconic 1988 cult classic film of the same name.

Set in in the present day with "good girl" Veronica Sawyer dealing with a different but equally vicious group of "Heathers," -- Heather Chandler (Melanie Field) is the unconventional leader of this popular high school clique and rules Westerburg High through fear, intimidation and fashion sense, while Heather Duke (Brendan Scannell) is Heather C’s top sidekick, followed by Heather McNamara (Jasmine Mathews), the nicest Heather in the group.

Other members include JD Dean (James Scully), a new boy in town with a dark side and sets out on a reckless path of destruction, as the trailer also provides a quick glimpse at Selma Blair and Shannen Doherty (who played the shy Heather Duke in the original film).

Heathers premieres Wednesday, March 7 at 10 p.m. on the Paramount Network.

In other new trailers, Alicia Vikander fights for survival in the latest ‘Tomb Raider’ trailer.
