The Hennessey Venom F5 has just been unveiled at this year’s SEMA event in Las Vegas. Hennessey’s ultimate goal is for the new model to become the fastest car in the world by reaching a top speed of 300 mph.
As it stands, the Bugatti Chiron is the world’s fastest road car, topping out at 261 mph. For some background, a twin-turbocharged Chevrolet small-block V8 rests under the hood of the Hennessey Venom F5, cranking out roughly 1600 HP.
But even if it doesn’t win the title of the fastest car in the world, the Venom F5 will still be exclusive. Only 24 models were made, with each costing an insane $1.6 million.
One concern, however, as Maxim points out, remains in the tires. When traveling at such high speeds, it’s not uncommon for tires to fall apart.
