Not too long ago, Hermès debuted its FW18 collection in a 17th-century former Dominican monastery. But while the Parisian luxury fashion house may be best known for its high-end clothing and accessories, its output doesn’t stop with leather wallets and Birkin bags.
Last year, for its FW17 collection, Hermès debuted a line of skateboard decks, and we recently stumbled upon this one being auctioned off by Heritage Auctions, in partnership with Moda Operandi. The skateboard features one of Hermès’ archival designs — Sangles en zigzag — by the brand’s legendary designer Henri d’Origny. Made from light beech wood with a noble maple veneer, this skateboard deck is sold in pristine condition and in its original Hermès packaging.
Far from your average board, the quality deck is a true collectible, which goes some way in justifying its far more Hermès than skate brand price-point of $6,800.
Take a closer look at the designer skateboard and its intricate detailing below. Please note that delivery is expected between August 14 and October 14.
