As America's love affair with all things zombie shows no sign of slowing anytime soon, indie flick It Stains the Sands Red is the latest project to offer up its entrails.

You surely know the story arc by this point: a viral outbreak results in the dead coming back to life and they're hungry for living flesh. But unlike most films in the saturated subgenre, the guts (no pun intended) of the story here takes place in the desert and follows just a single lone zombie on the pursuit of troubled protagonist, Molly.

That may sound an easy enough situation to escape, but problematic is the fact that, unlike the human, the biter doesn't get tired nor is he affected by the relentless sun. How annoying.

Directed by Colin Minihan, the film features Brittany Allen in the main role. Look out for it releasing some point later in the year.

Here's the latest trailer for Netflix's War Machine.
