One of the main criticisms of the superhero genre is that the characters themselves often come off as caricatures rather than real people. Netflix and Marvel were wise to rectify this trope with Jessica Jones, a hard-drinking, past-haunted, private eye, who can't seem to stay out of her own way as she deals with various villains in New York City.
While Season 1 saw Jones battling the telekinetic powers of Kilgrave, the recently released trailer for Season 2 suggests that the gumshoe wants to seek out greater answers as to her own special gifts, asking, "How many others are there like me?”
A slick mixture of character study and action, there's a reason why Variety has called Jessica Jones the best superhero show on TV.
Season 2 of Jessica Jones premieres March 8 on Netflix.
