At last!

A few years have gone by since we last saw a project from Kendrick Lamar. In fact, his last album was in 2018 for the Marvel film Black Panther, and before that we frequently got releases.

In 2017, we got DAMN., in 2016, untitled unmastered, in 2015, To Pimp A Butterfly, and so on, and needless to say, it has been quiet without Kendrick Lamar on the scene.

We did however get a performance by the rapper at this year's Super Bowl, where he took the stage alongside Mary J. Blige, 50 Cent, Eminem, Dr. Dre, and Snoop Dogg.

Out of nowhere, the rapper took to Instagram to announce his upcoming album dubbed Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, as well as its release date which is set for May 13, 2022, marking his fifth studio album.

"All factual information for this release will come directly from this source only," the announcement also reads.

There's yet no information as to what we can expect to see from the anticipated record, but knowing Kendrick Lamar, we'll undoubtedly have plenty of great features and singles that set us up nicely for a summer of good music. In addition to Lamar, we're also expecting albums from Future, Pusha T, and Jack Harlow within the same month.

It goes without saying that Twitter has been all over the album announcement, sharing excitement, dream features, and more that they'd like to see from Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers.

Baby Keem has been a frequent Kendrick collaborator, as well as big names such as Rihanna, Drake, ScHoolboy Q, and so on, and we're expecting to see at least a few of them on some of the tracks.

Make sure to stay tuned as any more information surrounding the album will be shared by Kendrick Lamar via Instagram in the days leading up to the release.
