The 2022 Super Bowl may still be months away, but Pepsi has just announced who will be heading up its anticipated half-time performance: Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar.

The star-studded lineup will be taking "the world's biggest stage" in February at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood. With each of the artists being native to Los Angeles, it feels like the perfect fit to represent the area. According to Variety, together the five artists have 43 Grammy awards between them, and 22 No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 charts and the Super Bowl marks the first time they will all be performing together on the same stage.

“The opportunity to perform at the Super Bowl Halftime show, and to do it in my own backyard, will be one of the biggest thrills of my career,” said Dr. Dre, also giving a shoutout to Roc Nation for putting together the assemble. The 2022 event will mark the third year of the partnership between Pepsi, the Super Bowl and Jay-Z's entertainment company, which previously tapped Jennifer Lopez and Shakira in 2020, and the Weeknd in 2021.

To many, the Pepsi Super Bowl halftime show is even more exciting than the actual football game, and is seen by millions of people worldwide every single year. In 2015, 118.5 million people watched Katy Perry's halftime show performance, marking the biggest one to date. However, in recent years, the numbers have begun to decline.

With next year's impressive lineup, it remains to be seen whether Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar will be able to pull in the big numbers, but it is definitely a push by Super Bowl to keep the halftime show cool as well as represent the Los Angeles community.

The 2022 Super Bowl is set to take place on Sunday, February 13.
